FRIDAY FASHION SPECTRUM: Belmont Army: Fashionable and Affordable

Are you looking to shop at a place that is close to Loyola, fashionable, and most importantly, affordable? Look no further than Belmont Army. Even though the name and look of the store from the outside can seem intimidating, this place has a lot of great fashion finds.

Belmont Army is an independent clothing store located in the Lakeview neighborhood, right off the Belmont red line stop. The store is huge, with five floors of clothing. The first floor is trendy clothes, the second floor is shoes, the third floor is military surplus (military uniforms and bags, kind of intimidating in my opinion) and the fourth floor is vintage. The entire basement is dedicated to skate clothing.

Belmont Army carries a variety of different brands for both men and women. Some of these brands include Cheap Monday, BB Dakota and Tulle for women and Adidas, Vans and Obey for men. All of the salespeople there are super friendly and always willing to help you. Belmont Army prides itself in being an original flagship store, and for supporting Chicago.

Belmont Army offers a lot of great options for spring. One of the brands I really like there is BLANK NYC, which sells mostly denim products. My favorite is the Slim Fit Jacket, which is pictured above. The lightweight wash of the jacket, as well as the worn in feel, make it an essential item for spring. This would look great layered with almost any skirt or dress.

Another brand I like is Tulle. This brand has a lot of girly, feminine clothing at Belmont Army. My favorite item is the pink polka dot dress. This dress ties at the waist, so it is flattering for any body shape. It has convenient side pockets as well. The pattern and shape of the dress make it wearable for any occasion. The dress is easy to layer with. It would even look good with the denim slim fit jacket.

Belmont Army is a unique clothing store in Chicago. All Loyola students should give this store a try. It is easily accessible, affordable and there is something for everyone.
