About the LUChameleon

General Information:

The LUChameleon Magazine is Loyola University Chicago’s official alternative themed online magazine and newest campus publication. The publication was founded and launched by a group of Loyola University Chicago students in November 2011. The Chameleon is also a Registered Student Organization with the university department of Student Activities and Greek Affairs.

 

Featured Themes:

A/E (arts and entertainment)

The Hots (LGBTQA and sexuality)

Liberation (feminism and gender)

Co-Exist (religion and spirituality)

Green Scene (the environment)

Zoo (Politics and Social Justice)

Culture Shock (race/culture/ethnicity).

 

Mission Statement:

To inform students of, and provide a voice for an alternative audience, at Loyola University Chicago using a wide range of vivid, striking, stunning, photography/visuals and informative, enjoyable, and insightful feature and news articles that encapsulate student and LUC community life through the seven different alternative topics listed above.

 

Motto:

“Redefining Different”

 

Meetings and Involvement:

LUChameleon section meetings are at 7:30 PM on Thursday nights in Mundelein Center, in the lounge across from Center Stage Cafe. At section meetings, writers can pick up story assignments or staff photographers/artists could pick up a photo or art assignment. Staff videographers can also pitch video/multimedia story ideas at these meetings. You can also meet several members of our editorial staff at these section meetings and learn more about the Chameleon.
